Grosgrain started with Mina's plain desire to wear a well-made, simple wide-brim straw hat. The hunt eventually led her to the hat factory operating over fifth generations near Tokyo, in Kasukabe, where it has a long history of farming natural wheat straw and producing items from it.
Being a creator of fashion myself, I soon acknowledged their craftsmanship and dedication over 140 years, and I started designing straw hats in collaboration. I named my small business after the classic ribbon for the hats, Grosgrain.

Grosgrainは2011年、シンプルな広つばの麦わら帽子を身につけたい、と前田が探したどり着いた麦わら帽子工房でいくつか

サンプルを作ってもらったことをきっかけに、コラボレーションでスタートしたレーベルです。

「よい時間のそばに、いつも」をコンセプトに、身につけると背筋が伸びるような洗練された麦わら帽子を、

天然素材にこだわり五世代続く日本の工房で丁寧に製作しています。麦わら帽子からはじまったコレクションはフェルトや布帛素材にもバリエーションを増やし顧客や取引先に支えられて、成長を続けています。

オーストラリアメルボルン,シドニー,ドイツデュッセルドルフ等、世界各地へ日本発の洗練の麦わら帽子を届けています。
